Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Whitebox CV, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Account responsibilities
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may not share your password or misuse the service, including by abusing APIs, scraping, or reselling access. Free-plan limits apply as shown in the application.
3. Description of the service
Whitebox CV is a web-based ATS resume checker and job-matching service. Features may include resume analysis, comparison with a job description, keyword and skill-gap identification, ATS-oriented checks, optimized resume content, cover-letter generation, scan history, saved jobs, optional result sharing, and job-search tools. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.
4. User content
You retain your rights in content you submit, including resumes and job descriptions. You grant Whitebox CV a limited license to host, process, analyze, generate results from, display, and—if you enable sharing—make available that content, solely as reasonably necessary to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the service, and to improve its functionality and reliability.
This license does not include a right to use your content to train AI models or to build an anonymized training dataset. Whitebox CV does not claim ownership of your resumes.
5. Resume and job-description uploads
You represent that you have the right to upload the materials you submit. Do not upload content you are not authorized to use. If you provide a job-posting URL, the service may fetch that page to extract a job description.
6. AI-generated analysis and recommendations
Analysis, recommendations, optimized resume content, and cover letters may be produced using an OpenAI-compatible AI service (which, depending on configuration, may involve OpenAI or OpenRouter). Output is returned to the application. Optimized resume content may be stored with your analysis. Cover letters are generated but are not stored in the database.
7. Accuracy limitations
AI-generated analysis, recommendations, resume content, and cover letters may contain errors or omissions. Whitebox CV does not guarantee employment, interviews, passage through any employer’s applicant tracking system, job offers, or the accuracy of third-party job information. You remain responsible for reviewing application materials before you submit them.
8. Third-party services
The service depends on third parties, which may include AI providers, Stripe, Resend, database and hosting providers, optional file storage, and job-search providers. Your use of those services is also subject to their applicable terms. Whitebox CV is not responsible for third-party systems we do not control.
9. Subscriptions and payments
Paid Pro access is processed through Stripe using Stripe-hosted checkout. Whitebox CV does not store payment-card numbers. Whitebox CV stores subscription and customer identifiers needed to manage your plan. Free-plan usage limits are described in the application. These Terms do not create a separate refund policy.
10. Cancellation
If you have a Pro subscription, you can manage billing through the Stripe customer portal made available in the application. When Stripe reports that a subscription has ended, the application updates your plan accordingly. Details of invoices, payment methods, and cancellation timing are handled in Stripe.
11. Sharing
You may create share links for analysis results. Depending on configuration, links may be public, password-protected, and/or set to expire. Unprotected share links may be viewed by anyone who obtains them. You are responsible for content you intentionally make available through share links.
12. Acceptable use
You may not use the service for illegal purposes, to infringe others’ rights, or to transmit malware. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe threaten the security or integrity of the service.
13. Intellectual property
Whitebox CV and its branding, software, and documentation remain the property of Whitebox CV or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the product to you. They also do not transfer ownership of your submitted content to Whitebox CV, except for the limited license in section 4.
14. Service availability
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, and third-party providers may experience outages that affect the service.
15. Suspension and termination
You may delete your account in settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we need to protect the service or other users. Account deletion removes application content such as resumes, job descriptions, saved jobs, and analyses through the application’s deletion mechanisms, subject to the limitations described in the Privacy Policy (including possible retention of email and usage counters, and copies that may remain in backups or third-party systems).
16. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Whitebox CV is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or, if you have not paid, to the maximum extent such a limitation is allowed by applicable law.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. If you continue to use the service after an update, you should review the revised Terms.
